The system includes detailed procedures for specific equipment start-up, like compressors and pumps or furnaces.

Run and Maintain Monitoring

Helps the operator during normal operation in order to run the plant at best performance.
On the basis of acquired data, the system identifies the status of each equipment in term of efficiency and / or performance and early detects conditions that can lead to plant upsets.
When a discrepancy is found, the user is alerted and a proper suggestion is given, the change of operating condition of the plant is closely followed by the correct operating procedure.

Abnormal Situation Detection

Keeps under control all process variables related to plant safety and equipment shut-down and early identifies conditions that can lead to an emergency situation (i.e. reactor temperatures run-away).
When a warning condition is found, the operator is alerted and an advice is given in order to bring the plant back to normal.

Emergency Assistance

Helps the control room operator during emergency conditions, by co-ordinating the automatic actions of the ESD system with proper manual actions to be executed on the DCS or directly on the field. The system automatically recognises all possible emergency situation and, depending on the actual status of the plant, suggest the proper to be taken in order to operate safely and to recover the emergency situation.

Shut-down Assistance

Gives advice to operator about the sequence of operation to undertake to shut-down the plant, verifying the correctness actions executed and giving the consensus for the following shut-down phase.
Included in this module are the procedures for normal shut-down and for emergency shut-down of specific equipments and of whole plant.
